Loss had a way of reshaping us, of pulling us into the depths of sorrow yet somehow leading us to create something beautiful through Christ Jesus. For our family, one way that beauty has been woven, is into soft yarn, wrapped in love, and stitched with prayer—each piece made by Nana's Hands.
A Prayer for the Gift
My mother had never crocheted before. But a years after we lost our precious baby boy, Shefa, at 32 weeks, and we shared the vision of the "Shefa Boxes" something stirred in her heart. She prayed—prayed for the ability to create, to learn something new, something she could pour her love into. And God Answered! She would later pick up a crochet hook and, almost instantly, the stitches came together. She learned quickly, as if her hands had always known the rhythm.
What began as a simple desire became a deeply personal mission. With each blanket, hat, and delicate angel wing she creates, she prays over the mother who will receive it. She knows, as we do, that nothing can take away the pain of losing a child. But she also knows the quiet comfort of a handmade gift, one made with love, one that whispers, "You are not alone."

The Blanket We Took Home
When we left the hospital after Shefa’s stillbirth, we walked out with empty arms. The only thing we took home was a small, hand-stitched blanket set—a tangible piece of love wrapped around our broken hearts that was given with a comfort box. It was a comfort in our sorrow, a reminder that our baby’s life, though brief, was known, seen, and cherished.
That experience would planted a vision in our hearts a few years later. What if we could offer this same comfort to other grieving mothers? What if we could ensure that no mother walks away with empty hands, but instead carries a soft reminder of the love that will never fade?

A Family’s Mission
What started as Nana’s Hands creating blankets for Shefa Boxes has grown into something so much bigger. This project is not just about crochet—it’s about love, about prayer, about standing in the gap for mothers who are experiencing the unimaginable. It’s about making sure that no mother feels alone in her grief.
Our heart and vision is to provide as many of these sets as possible for free to mothers who have lost a child, just as we once received ours. Every stitch, every strand of yarn is woven with care, carrying the love of a grandmother who grieves alongside them, a mother who knows their pain, and a family who longs to bring comfort in the midst of sorrow.

Wrapped in Love, Held in Heaven
If you or someone you love has experienced pregnancy loss, we want you to know that we see you. We grieve with you. And through our family team at "Abundance of Heaven" through the "Shefa Foundation", we pray that these small gifts bring even the slightest bit of warmth to your aching heart.
Because while we may not get to hold our babies in our arms, they will forever be held in our hearts—and in an Abundance of Heaven.
With love,Rayah Shalom & Family
