Sharing an Abundance of Heaven: Bringing Comfort, One Shefa Box at a Time

Two weeks ago, we officially launched "Abundance of Heaven" and the Shefa Boxes, and the response has been overwhelming. In just this short time, we’ve been able to serve an average of one pregnancy loss per day in our local area of Vero Beach and Sebastian, as well as one across the country. Each box is a reminder to grieving parents that they are not alone and that their babies are deeply loved and remembered.

One of the most meaningful moments was being able to launch the ministry on the weekend of what would have been Shefa’s 5th birthday. "Shefa Day" (what our family calls it) was incredibly special as we were able to deliver boxes to the mothers who filled out the form for free boxes, ending the day at church with our "House of Redemption" family. Together, we worshiped the Lord and received a powerful word preached by my husband, Solomon. It was a not a day of sadness but a day full of joy and the goodness of God.

Another beautiful part of this journey has been seeing our own children take part in serving and the entire family has been instrumental in running the ministry. From the little ones helping to decorate boxes or make soaps, to the older ones assisting in prayer and learning to crochet with Nana, everyone has found a meaningful way to contribute. Just yesterday, one of my oldest daughters was able to give the very first blanket set she made to a grieving mother who recently suffered a miscarriage.

This has not been an easy task, however, as our hearts break with every request we receive. Romans 12:15 tells us to "mourn with those who mourn," and at the same time, we take solace in knowing that every family we serve has a child in heaven with the Lord, filled with an abundance of joy! In that truth alone, there is peace and hope. We are thankful and know that if the Lord gave us this assignment, He will provide the strength, wisdom, and resources needed to fulfill it.

So far, we have been able to provide these boxes completely free of charge, but with the growing demand, we need help to continue blessing these families. Some have asked how they can help, and one way is by crocheting baby blankets in various sizes for pregnancy loss if you have that skill set or even in donations of yarn.

Another significant need is financial donations to sustain this outreach and ensure that no grieving family is turned away or waiting for too long.

We are incredibly grateful for those who have already come alongside us, whether through prayers, referrals, or generous support. If you feel led to be a part of this mission, please reach out. Every effort, big or small, makes a difference in bringing comfort and hope to those walking this difficult journey.

Or consider sponsoring a box for another mother. Instead of putting a name in the entry you can simply put: Angel Mom or Sponsor

Each and every family we serve we remember and will continue to keep them all in prayer.

Next week, I look forward to opening up a time for prayer (virtually) for anyone who wants to join to pray and encourage one another.

Thank you for standing with us as we continue to share an Abundance of Heaven with families in need. We have some more things that are developing with this ministry and we can't wait to share soon!

With Love,

Rayah Shalom
